Whenever Mom made Nasi Ulam in the old days.. Picking the Daun Kaduk from our balcony was great fun as usually we were not allowed to disturb the plants.. (kids will be kids)
When the prawn paste was being toasted, the kitchen in our old house will carry the smell so strongly I usually run and hide in the room (although it does taste great in the nasi)
Making this on my own so many years later made me smile as I relive the memories… gathering the many herbs was really fun.
